By aggressively gathering donations of unused medical supplies the Afya Foundation advances positive health and environmental outcomes by reducing medical waste and incineration. Approximately 7 billion pounds of PVC is discarded every year in municipal solid, medical, construction and demolition waste. Every year, the United States produces approximately 3.2 million tons of medical waste.
The miracle is not to fly in the air, or to walk on the water, but to walk on the earth.
